MANUEL PLANK-JORGE - CONCEPT DESIGN AND VISUALIZATION
Manuel Plank-Jorge was born and raised in Germany. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich with a focus on illustration and fine art. Upon graduation he moved to Belgium where he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Brussels with a post grad scholarship awarded by the German Academic Exchange Service to continue his studies in the field of illustration and Bande Dessinee. After a year in Brussels Manuel relocated to Los Angeles where he began working as a Concept- and Visual Development Artist in movies and video games. Since then Manuel Plank-Jorge has worked on numerous high profile movie and game projects in a wide variety of genres, ranging from historic period pieces to science fiction to contemporary action blockbusters for directors like the Wachowski siblings, Ridley Scott and Roland Emmerich. Manuel contributed designs and visualization to some of the most successful franchises in the field of movies and games including Marvel's Iron Man 3, Captain America - Civil War, Ant Man, Black Panther as well as Universal Studios' Furious 7 and The Fate of the Furious. Among his credits in the field of video games are Electronic Arts' critically acclaimed Titanfall as well as Activision's iconic Call of Duty franchise where he worked on Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Black Ops 2, some of the most successful video games to date. Manuel has enjoyed numerous opportunities for travel all over the world inside and outside of his field of work enabling him to expand his horizon from meeting and creatively collaborating with new people. He is a dual citizenship holder of the european union and the united states. Aside from working in movies and games Manuel is also teaching at Art CenterCollege of Design.
